New & Seasonal: Kouhaku Daifuku

Starting from the Girls Day on the 3rd of March through the Hanami flower viewing picnics/parties, spring is the season of many Japanese festive occassions. With the school graduation ceremonies and school entrance ceremonies being held during this time of the year as well, there are many reasons to celebrate.

For this season, Yoyo Kitchen prepared a special treat of traditional Japanese sweets: the Kouhaku Daifuku. These glutinous rice cakes come in white and red/pink colors (colors for festive occasions in Japan), and are filled with smooth, sweet red bean paste. Treat your loved ones with these seasonal sweets, or enjoy them yourself with a nice cup of tea!
